UpUp Privacy Policy

UpUp is a personal planning and journaling app. No account is required, and its core features work offline. The app does not send your plans, action history or journal entries to a developer-operated server.

On-device data

Your plans, scheduled actions, completion or skipped states, journals and reminder preferences are stored in the app’s local data directory to display your day and calculate recent progress. What you choose to write may contain personal information.

The app has no advertising, analytics or third-party SDKs, does not track you across apps or access advertising identifiers, and does not use HealthKit, location, contacts, camera or microphone. It has no app account or developer-operated cloud synchronisation. Your iOS device backup may include app data, depending on your system and Apple backup settings.

Optional reminders

Local notifications are scheduled only after you enable reminders and grant iOS notification permission. Action names may appear in notifications and on your lock screen. Manage previews or disable notifications in iOS Settings. Planning and journaling still work without notification permission. The app schedules upcoming reminders and refreshes later ones when you reopen it.

Export and external services

When you choose to export, the app creates a JSON file with your local records and opens the iOS file exporter so you can choose where to save it. It may contain your complete plans and journals. Keep it secure. Your chosen file provider handles that copy under its own rules; UpUp does not upload it to a developer-operated server. If the records file cannot be read, the error screen also offers the system share sheet to back up the original file. Export does not imply an import or restore feature.

External websites, email tools and apps you share with process the network information or content required by the action you choose, under their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

You can delete journal entries or confirm Clear local version 2 data from the My tab to remove UpUp 2.0 plans, action records and journals and turn off its reminders. Ending a plan removes pending actions for today and later days while retaining earlier records and completed or skipped actions. Deleting the app through iOS removes its local app data; the separate Offload App option retains documents and data. Manage exported copies and device backups separately. We do not have server copies of your local records and cannot recover them for you.

UpUp 2.0 does not connect to the former community or consultation service, and does not import older records. The new version uses a separate data directory without converting legacy files.

Do not send passwords, verification codes or unnecessary private journal content. Email providers process communications under their own policies. Relevant correspondence may be kept to handle your request and necessary follow-up.

Changes to data practices will be reflected in this policy and its update date. The app uses Apple’s standard End User License Agreement.
